wild eyes

"There is an adventure up ahead,
and we are about to find it."
"What difference does it make if you live a million more lifetimes? At least, you can enjoy this one."
"When we accept small wonders, we qualify ourselves to imagine great wonders."
"If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start."
"The highest function of love is that it makes the loved one a unique and irreplaceable being."
"Upon those travelers who make their way without maps or guides, there breaks a wave of exhilaration with each unexpected change of plans."
"I want to be able to sleep in an open field, to travel west, to walk freely at night..."
"I never did, but always thought
I would like to_______."

a taste

soooo i've currently been obsessed with reading, which would normally be SO strange for me, but now thankfully, there's no going back to the old me. i can't believe i let myself go so long without a good book in hand.
i recently read just kids by patti smith. here are a few beautiful lines out of the book that i just loveeeeed.
"i feel no sense of vindication as one of the handful of survivors. i would rather have seen them all succeed, catch the brass ring. as it turned out, it was i who got one of the best horses."
"within that moment was trust, compassion, and our mutual sense of irony. he was carrying death within him and i was carrying life. we were both aware of that, i know."
"he looked at me, his look of love and reproach. my love for him could not save him. his love for life could not save him. it was the first time i truly knew that he was going to die."
"in the distance i heard a call, the voices of my children. they ran toward me. in this stretch of timelessness, i stopped. i suddenly saw him, his green eyes, his dark locks. i heard his voice above the gulls, the childish laughter, and the roar of the waves. smile for me, patti, as i am smiling for you."
another book i just finished was delirium. beautiful book. i'll share the last paragraph with you to give you a taste.
"i have a secret. you can build walls all the way to the sky and i will find a way to fly above them. you can try to pin me down with a hundred thousand arms, but i will find a way to resist. and there are so many of us out there, more than you think. people who refuse to stop believing. people who refuse to come to earth. people who love in a world without walls, people who love into hate, into refusal, against hope without fear. i love you. remember, they cannot take it."
currently reading the hunger games.
so far soooo good!
this is next on the list....
thanks to glenna! if anyone has any other suggestions let me know :)

runaway

"the most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. it is the source of all true art and all science. he to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed."

cake thing

i love cooking, and trying to cook well. although it's hard because i'm extremely impatient.. i don't always like measuring ingredients perfectly, waiting for the oven to fully preheat, research cooking techniques blah blah because, well i'm impatient. nevertheless, more times than not, it turns out wonderful.
it all began with vanilla cake, food coloring and malt balls mmm.
 then came the coco cake
oh yes, there's my adorable nephew who loved hanging out:) he wanted nothing more than to put his hands in the cake and play around in it. not a bad idea.
 obvi new to this.. lol
 gathering of the sprinkles
 viola!
